From ‘Guitar Hero’ to A Real Guitar
The Arcade Days
Whilst I had never played any instrument, I spent countless hours playing Guitar Hero, to the point I have (or had!) multiple high scores in arcades in Shoreditch, Bournemouth & Brighton!
The Transition to Real Guitar
One day I bought a cheap acoustic guitar, with the logic that if I just spent the time I spent playing games on the real thing I would learn the guitar online in no time at all.
Unfortunately I wasted a lot of time looking on bad apps, bad YouTube tutorials and trying to work out what I learnt next – making it hard to keep learning.
Do things you enjoy, so you are motivated to keep learning!
Sharing my experiences, good & bad
Thankfully, I can now play the guitar – and whilst I am not an expert, I have decided to share my advice beginner to beginner – to help people find answers to all of the questions I had when starting out for the first time.
